Working with Lagos State Ministry of Education

Efficacy in teaching is measured by how much students are driving their own learning. How active they are in the classroom so a quiet and well behaved classroom might not be a true reflection of learning and excellent classroom management

Like a potter determined to bring out a beautiful tea set from a piece of mundane clay Golden Links UK is shining the search light on the quality of education in Nigeria. We are making our contribution through capacity building of educators using British standards.

We hit the ground running in January as we were invited by Lagos State Ministry of Education to train 400 School Inspectors (known as School Evaluators) on the British Inspection Grading Methodology. Lead trainer Angelina took these participants on a deep dive into:

·         The British System of Inspection:

·         Current Research on the brain and learning

·         Fundamentals in judging the efficacy of teaching.

She said “what makes a good teacher great is the ability to understand the achievement dichotomies and intellectual differences in each classroom”. Every teacher must understand that the emphasis is no longer on “how well do you teach, but how much are your students understanding”.

Efficacy in teaching is measured by how much students are driving their own learning. How active they are in the classroom so a quiet and well behaved classroom might not be a true reflection of learning and excellent classroom management. Mrs Olugbemiga one of the directors commented after the training “I am speechless but I have to say I enjoyed every aspect of the training very educative , awesome and all the officers that came with me are really impressed and very excited and all set to implement what we have been taught”.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
