Learning Difficulty – ADHD

Teachers will agree that having a student who can’t sit still. Who seems disorganized and doesn’t seem to be paying attention can be their worst nightmare. The answer is to understand the strengths and challenges of this disorder and adapt your teaching and classroom accordingly. A learning disorder cannot be cured but can be circumvented. This means you can teach in such a way that your ADHD student is set on a journey of success.

Since your ADHD learner can’t seem to sit still we can make them learn using their own style. Adapt your lessons to ensure that it has some physical activity that gets the students engaged and moving. Realising that sitting still a challenge you have to be ready to accommodate them. This requires patience, lots of positive reinforcement and more one to one sessions to figure out the lessons together. Find out their passion and merge that within your classroom.
