Discipline vs Punishment

· Behaviour Management, Parents Exclusive

Remember our Proactive Behaviour Management Approach and Reactive Behaviour Management Approach. Discipline is a planned method of managing behaviour it is about impacting knowledge, creating an atmosphere of high expectations and having consequences for non-compliance.

Punishment is an unplanned method of managing behaviour it is just about reacting to misbehaviour it is punitive it is judgemental.

So choose discipline over punishment. With discipline it is about being strategic which means having a plan and sharing your plan with your children.
