Self Awareness

Can I share an open secret? Situations seem bigger in our minds when we are stressed. When we have not had enough sleep. When we are hungry. Mum and Dad always administer your consequences when you are thinking with your rational brain. When you are not stressed or emotionally charged. Some parents have really hurt their children while punishing them because they were either very stressed or emotionally charged. You must always know when you as a parent needs a rest. Or when you need to calm down and think it through. This is why your consequences should be known before the misbehaviour so that you just do what you knew and had warned them that you would do. However on certain occasions you might have to say I will address this tomorrow and you do. Also be careful of the monster called transferred aggression. Leave the stress, disappointment and anger from work at work.
