You must not break the rule by doing it one day and forgiving the next. They should be able to count on you being consistent with the consequences. Consistency is the name of the game. You have to stick with the program and ensure that you always follow through with what you said you would do

So in our last lesson we said discipline is about consequences for non-compliance. This means that if you told your child that it they wrote on the wall that you will put them in the naughty corner or they will not be allowed play time then you must do it.

Therefore regardless of how you feel at the time they default even if it’s on your birthday you must follow through with your consequences. You must not break the rule by doing it one day and forgiving the next.
