Student centered learning presents a paradigm shift. The traditional model of teaching had the teacher as the fountain of knowledge and the gatekeeper. However in the 21st century as we train students to develop their critical thinking skills we must embrace a new dimension to teaching. This means reshuffling the teacher's role and empowering the students. It actually results in putting the students in the driver's seat with the teachers as guides and coaches which opens up a new world to both learner and teachers. As students have different personalities and goals the need for personalized instruction is not only possible but desirable.
